A former neighbour and great fan of Don Lane, the popular entertainer and multiple Logie winner, Funk organised - almost posthumously as it turned out - the successful "Lay the Cable" July 2004 tour to Melbourne.

The tour visited many of Don's favourite places in the southern capital including the GTV9 studios, a discreet Richmond factory that custom built Don's famous glass top tables, and his regular restaurant, The Exploding Vindaloo Firecracker.

The gregarious Funk was the winner of the 2001 Match Play Championship.  Despite his good match play form, his manager, Attila, has so far resisted all attempts by tournament organisers keen to have him play the World Series of Golf.

His forte is the World Series where he is a three-time champion (1990, 1998 and 2005).  He also successfully takes on the high-pressure and thankless role of the tournament's greyhound and trotting expert and has recently been appointed chief procurement and legal officer for the club's Smoke Da greyhound racing syndicate.

At the Match Play Championship, he was the losing finalist in 1996 and 2002.  Java served as the club's second President.

Seve Hemosteros

Although a three time World Series of Golf winner (1989, 1996 and 2003), he enjoys relative anonymity and a far better handicap at the Match Play Championship where, despite numerous attempts, he has reached the semi-finals only once.

President Love had an outstanding start to his career winning three Match Play Championships in his first 6 years.  He finally added a 4th major to his bulging trophy case with another Match Play win in 2004.

One of 4 players to reach the career milestone of 40 major tournaments, only missing the 1995 World Series of Golf when hospitalised the week before.

He has two brothers-in-law on tour, Soldier Montgomerie and Shigeki Moroneyama.

Kipper Parnevik

A talented sportsman who excelled at football as well as golf.

In 2004 he reached the career milestone of 300 games with the Balmain Aussie Rules team.  A large crowd turned out at Drummoyne Oval to witness the event and cheer as Kipper burst through a large banner captioned "Will play for food".  The hero of the day kicked five goals in the final quarter to seal a comfortable win.

The third player to complete the home and away double with his victory at the 2007 Match Play Championship.  He won the World Series of Golf in 2004 and 2008.

Tubby served as the club's handicapper from 1989-2002, resigning after rumblings about his comprehensive World Series win.
